Jackson Hole is a challenging place to buy a home.  Ninety-seven percent of the land in the county is owned by the Federal government leaving very little left for private development.  The median sale price of a home as of February 2010 was $749,000. 

The Teton County Housing Authority is operated by Teton County government and uses sales tax revenue, and developer fees and exactions to implement housing options for Jackson's working people.  A comprehensive Housing Needs Assessment was completed in 2007. 

The Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust is a privately-funded not-for-profit that purchases land for housing projects and constructs a variety of housing types. 

Habitat for Humanity of the Great Teton Area also works on housing projects for Jackson's local families. 

Each of the above agencies has a different application and approval process. 

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has a comprehensive list of Realtors in the area who sell market priced homes, condominiums and vacant land.
